We are pleased to share our February Contractor in the Spotlight, Spane Buildings Inc. of Mount Vernon, Washington.
Spane Buildings has been a reputable builder since 1945, setting the standard for quality in their work. It is a family run business, founded by Victor Spane, who passed on his legacy to son, Jim Spane. Their focus has been garages, horse arenas, barns, private residences, and commercial structures throughout Western Washington. In recent years, they had several requests for use of asphalt shingles on the roofs of buildings and homes, and made the choice to add on a residential roofing division. In 2012, Jim hired on Justin Shirley who had 15 years of roofing experience to take on the new branch of Spane Buildings. Spane has been a proud supporter of PABCO® shingles from the start, and always aims to please the customer with confidence that the job was done right.
Jim and his company take pride in their key values of safety, quality, customer service, and community service. In all the work they perform, they choose local resources from the ground up. When Jim chooses to take on projects, he goes “all in” and won’t be satisfied until the job is done. When customers approach Jim for a project, the focus is on the specific needs and preferences of the customer. No project is the same, and extensive design and engineering go into all buildings created. Justin shares that attention to detail with his roof projects, ensuring the customer has a great experience every time. They rely on expertise and experience in their crew to achieve great work on every job, no matter the size.
The Dutch Mills Farm located in Arlington, Washington worked with Jim to design and create a beautiful, custom horse barn that provides riding opportunities and programs for the whole family. They chose PABCO Premier®Sherwood Green for the project because they fell in love with the complimentary color to the western design. Roughly 83 squares of Premier cover the roof of this barn, which gives shelter to 22 horse stalls, a tack room, grooming area, an office, a viewing room, and several bathrooms (see photos).
Spane Buildings has an exceptional reputation in the Northwest. They have been the recipient of numerous awards from the Skagit Island Counties Builders Association and take pride in helping the community. Spane Buildings gives back by building playhouse projects every year which are designed, built, and donated to benefit local charities. The playhouse in the photo also features PABCO’s Paramount® in Weathered Wood.
PABCO® Roofing Products is proud to feature Spane Buildings as their February Contractor in the Spotlight: an exemplary company who takes pride in their work, has outstanding family values, and the history to back their reputation.
